A private hideaway on the edge of Winter Hill
Cookham · Berkshire
The Hide
Set apart from the main house behind its own gate, Keeper's Hide is a handsome timber-clad hut with its own private garden — open fields on one side, the fairways of Winter Hill within easy reach on the other.
Inside, curved oak beams arch overhead a warm, panelled interior: a comfortable bed for two, a small kitchen, and a lovely bathroom with a shower. WiFi and a television are there when you want them, and left alone when you don't.
Within
A quiet room, dressed simply and well.
Enough to make coffee, breakfast, or a quiet supper.
A lovely, private bathroom with a shower.
Reliable, unobtrusive — there when needed.
A modest set, for a quiet evening in.
Your own patch, gated and apart from the house.

The Grounds
Mornings here belong to the fields. The garden looks straight out over open countryside, with nothing between you and the horizon — and, now and then, company. Horses graze the neighbouring fields and occasionally wander close enough to greet you over coffee, though they keep their own hours.
Some mornings, they come. Most mornings, it's just you and the view.

Getting Here
Dining
Local restaurants run the full range — traditional country pubs where muddy wellies and wet dogs are entirely welcome, through to a selection of the world's finest Michelin-starred dining: The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn in nearby Bray, and The Hand & Flowers in Marlow. All within a fifteen-minute taxi ride.
On the Calendar
Come summer, the calendar fills with occasions that draw crowds from across the country — Royal Ascot, the Henley Royal Regatta, and Tom Kerridge's Pub in the Park, a food festival held right in Marlow. All on our doorstep.
Afternoon Tea
A short drive brings you to two of the finest afternoon teas in the country — at Cliveden and at Danesfield House Hotel — both handsome enough to make a proper occasion of it.
